MA Student

I am a master’s student at the DRA Lab, Faculty of Law, University of Haifa. My research focuses on the impact of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) systems as auxiliary tools on judicial discretion, specifically concerning the fact-finding process and evidence evaluation in civil proceedings within the Israeli legal system.

My research path is a natural continuation of my academic background, which includes both an LL.B. and an LL.M. from the Faculty of Law at the University of Haifa. I also hold an M.A. in Educational Systems Development, also from the University of Haifa.

In a professional capacity, I am an attorney specializing in legal writing within the field of civil law, providing professional writing services to other lawyers. This experience provides me with a unique practical perspective on the challenges of legal drafting, argumentation, and reasoning, which complements and enriches my academic work.

My thesis examines the implications of using AI tools on fundamental principles of procedural justice, transparency, and judicial accountability. The research explores which cognitive and emotional processes of judges—particularly in assessing witness credibility and evidence—might be influenced or replaced by AI tools; how the presence of these systems affects the judicial duty to provide reasoning; and what is the desirable balance between the efficiency and consistency that AI systems offer and the necessity for human judgment, empathy, and legal interpretation. Through this inquiry, I aim to contribute to a critical understanding of the significant technological transformation in the civil justice system, while emphasizing the preservation of the fundamental values of the law.
